Richgate Bus Shelters

Series of photographs, 60 × 36 in. (with Richgate Research Group).

This series of photographs were installed in bus shelters throughout Richmond, BC. They are intended to celebrate immigration and diversity within the city. The text, “You Are Here” also appears in translation in German, Mandarin, Japanese and Punjabi. Each photograph represents a Richmond family who immigrated to Canada and interview responses about their immigration experiences and feelings related to their sense of belonging. The images derive from their individual stories of settlement and life in the City. Richmond. This public art project was produced with the support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
