Intersections, 2015, video projection, looping, 4 minutes, 33 seconds. (trailer 38 sec.)

This video derives from trips to northwest British Columbia, especially to the coastal communities and surrounding region of proposed oil and LNG pipeline development. The communities include Ksan, New Hazelton, Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Kitamaat Village, Douglas Channel, Laxgalts’ap (Nishga’a) and along the salmon spawning grounds of the Adams River in the Okanogan . Rather than polarized representations of concerns regarding resource development that present simplified debates addressing economy/environment of popular media, this video seeks to present the complexity of the interlaced relationships of land, water and aboriginal and non-aboriginal people in relation to contentious issues of resource extraction. Using animation and the metaphor of weaving, bringing together, connecting and poetically interweaving/intertwining images and actions creating a sense of place.
